Footprints

This is not the greatest picture in the world, but I did want to share this project. This was one of Laura's Christmas presents and I didn't get a chance to take a picture before it was in a frame and hanging on the wall.

Laura loves the poem "Footprints in the Sand" I stamped and colored the poem and then added a picture of a thoughtful Laura, sitting on Flagler beach last summer.

Snow Dogs

And of course, I can't leave the dogs out..... they normally don't pay much attention to the snow, but the temps have been so low lately, even the dogs have stayed inside more. This was a picture of them sitting on the front porch steps during the first snow storm.

New Moon Fever

Twilight fever hit early at our house. Laura read the books before the first movie came out.

She was already a Taylor Lautner fan before Twilight, too, so it just made it better than he was in the movies.... and Taylor in New Moon--- wow!! Needless to say, New Moon fever has been big around here.
When Burger King came out with some New Moon promo items, we had to check them out. Laura got a cup with the cast on it..... and a crown. .... and yes, she did sit in Burger King eating with her crown on. She was wearing her Jacob jacket and Paramore t-shirt, so it all sort of worked for her.

Snowy

Of course, I had to take pictures of Laura's first drive in the snow. She's determined that she is going to learn to drive in bad weather, and has had lots of opportunity to practice this winter.

Guest Scrapper

With all of the recent snow, I've had plenty of extra scrap time on my hands.... and so has Laura. All of these pages are hers. She's been working on her dance pages.

One clever thing that she did that I really like can be easily seen on the first page. Instead of putting brads on the corner of the title and journaling, she put little dots of black stickles... looks just like a brad, but was much easier for her and she could control the size "brad" that she wanted!!

Halloween '09

Finally got the Halloween pictures scrapped. Laura was a blue fairy.... and looked a little too good.

Journaling and another picture are hidden behind one of the photos.

Learner's Permit

When Laura went to test for her Learner's Permit, of course, I had to take my camera with me!!

I'm not convinced that these 2 pages are finished. Seems like they still need something, but I can't come up with what, so for the time being, they are finished.

The journaling and a couple more pictures are hidden on the second page.

Another Page

Last page until I get some journaling printed and more pictures taken. These pictures are more from our visit to the Smokies in September. I had trouble with this page, but was really satisfied with how it finally came together.

More Smoky Mtn

Here are some of the other layouts that I've been working on this week end.

These are a double page layout.

This page has hidden journaling that tells about the 2 bears we saw in the park on this visit.

G.R.I.T.S.

As soon as I saw this die cut in a scrapbook store in Tennessee, I knew I had to have it and scrap one of our pictures with it!!

Both pictures in both layouts were taken in September when we went to Gatlinburg/ Smoky Mtn National Park.

Scrap Time

We're still getting lots of cold temps and snow.... so that means more scrap time.

These are more pictures from our October trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The first 2 are a double page layout and then the last one is a single page.

Fall Memory

I'm finally getting started on scrapping my fall layouts. The fall ones are always my favorite to scrap-- I love the colors and the scenery. Usually, I get these layouts done every year even if nothing else is scrapped, but I am behind this year. This was a simple picture, but one of my favorites that I took one day in October when Laura and I were on the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC.

Snow Day 2010

Laura's first snow day came late this year, but she and the dogs enjoyed it.... and I enjoyed gettins some scrapping done!!

Shamu View

This was one of those layouts that had me pulling my hair out. Nothing would go as I planned and I kept having to make changes.... finally had so much time/ supplies tied up in it that I couldn't scrap it and start over-- so I kept trying to work it into something else. I finally figured out that I should have made it into 2 pages-- I think I would have been more satisfied, but I guess that is neither here nor there now, because here it is-- for better or worse!! LOL!!

This page is about the underwater viewing area for Shamu. It is one page with hidden journaling/ photos.

The paper came in a kit that I bought at my LSS. I didn't like the paper as it was, so I did some tweaking--- I cut one page in half and attached its bottom to the top of the other page. That way, instead of tossing both sheets, I ended up using them both and was much happier with them.

This is the hidden journaling opened.....

..... and a closer look at the journaling.

Manatees

This will be the last layout I post until I retake some pictures.... and work on the rest of the pages.

I took these at the manatee area at SeaWorld. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go into the underwater viewing area. After massive amounts of rain that week, the viewing area was flooded and temporarily closed, so we only got to visit and take pictures from the pool area.

Penguins

Now, back to the SeaWorld pictures!! LOL!! I had to do one of the penquins, since its always one of our favorite places to visit. We enjoy watching them-- not to mention the super AC we enjoy while in there with them!!

When we go into one of the parks, we always designate a meeting place "just in case". Should we accidentally become separated and cell phones fail, we always have one place that we know we can meet-- at SeaWorld, I told Laura and Kimmy that the penquin encounter would be our emergency meeting place if we became separated-- that way, while we were waiting, we would be entertained-- and cool!!

When I Travel........

I think this scrapbook page is one of my favorites... not because of the paper, colors or layout, but because it so accurately represents Laura. The pictures are her--- happy, laughing and enjoying life. In addition, the sentiment is exactly how she approaches a vacation and life-- she wants to see and do it all!! Here's a close up of the sentiment so you can see/ read it more easily. Laura actually found this at the scrapbooking store when we were in Tennessee in March. I saw it in her basket and immediately told her to go get one for me!! I knew I had to have it for a page for her!

Another beach layout

This is another beach layout.... at first, I was unsure if I was going to put this in the vacation album or in with my regular scrapbook pages, but I think it will definitely go with the vacation layouts. I love this picture of Laura.... very simple and so is the page. I cut the seashells out of another piece of dp and added them to the layout.

Flagler Beach

Some of these pages are a little out of order.... I'm still working and will post more SeaWorld pages later, but this will be one of the last pages in the vacation album. We stopped by Daytona on the way home from Orlando, and these pictures were taken at Flagler Beach. The dp was so busy, I didn't think it needed much embellishments or anything else added to it.

First Page of Vacation Album

This will actually be the first page in the album... it is a collage-- obviously-- of all our travels. This is much busier than normal for me, but I thought it would make a cute beginning to our trip.
