Teddy Bear Christmas

One last one and then I am finished... until tomorrow!!
This is a tri fold shutter card. I love making them, although I tried to do this one a little differently.

The image is Stamping Up and it was colored with prisma pencils and OMS. The DP is Basic Grey and the CS is Bazzil.

Another Halloween Card

Another little House Mouse dressed for Trick or Treat.

House Mouse Halloween

Isn't it amazing how some days, you can't make a card to save your life and then other days, the ideas are coming faster than you can get them on paper..... ??

I went back to the craft table after dinner tonight and came up with a few more cards. The first one is one of my favorite HM Halloween images... added a few extra touches for this card.

First Snowman...

I've got another card finished today-- my first snowman of the season.

This image is from a Serendipity Stamp that I got last week. He was so cute, I couldn't resist, and I do love all snowmen images so much!!

His glittery surface doesn't show up in the pictures well, but his "snow" is very glittery. I used Stickles first and then adhered ultra-fine crystal snow to him. Also, the puffy snow around his base and on his hat, etc... is liquid applique. When you apply heat, it PUFFS up a little!

The sentiment stamp is from House Mouse. The flowers are a recent addiction of mine: Petaloo Dazzlers. They are beautiful and no photo does them justice. Both the printed paper and cardstock are DCWV. The image was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS.

Home Tweet Home

This is my dad's birthday card. I always have a hard time picking an image or card for him--- since most of my stamps are Magnolia's or House Mouse, they just never seem quite right for him. I was very happy when I found this image! I think it is so cute! It is difficult to see on such a small photo, but there are eyes peeping out of the birdhouse, the sign over the door says "Home Tweet Home" and then there is a small outhouse out back!!
This is another image from my outhouse stamps that I bought from Netta's internet store.
I also decorated Dad's envelope by drawing a plank sign on the envelope. I thought it went well with the birdhouse/ outhouse motif!!

Ye Ole Fishin Hole

This is another birthday card. This one is for my brother, Ronnie, who is the big fisherman of the family.

I am addicted to this outhouse stamps!! I think they are adorable--- and, yes, bring back a few childhood memories-- not all of which are pleasant!! I found my first outhouse stamp on ebay and its a Christmas one. I'll be sharing some of those cards closer to Christmas. This one and a couple others, I purchased at my friend Netta's internet store. She has some beautiful stamps and the store is growing all the time, so check it out.

Inside the card, the bottom says.... You should have seen the one that got away!

To match the card, I drew an old plank sign on Ronnie's envelope.

Photo Card

This is a photo card I made a bit ago, but I wanted to share it today because I'm either making or getting several birthday cards ready to give to family members this week end. This card is for my sister in law, Elaine, who loves butterflies. The card is very simple with only a few brads added on the side.

The photo is one I took last summer while we were camping in Mt Rogers National Rec Area... the butterflies were everywhere!!

Pumpkin Tilda

This is another one of the cards I made last week. This one was sent to a cyber friend on one of my Yahoo groups for a monthly card exchange, so I had to wait for her to recieve it before I could post.... also, I had to wait until she posted a picture before I could swipe it! I was in such a hurry to get it in an envelope last week, so it wouldn't be late, I didn't take time for a photo.... so thanks for the picture, Netta!! Also, check out Netta's blog to see the card she made for her exchange!! It is beautiful and amazing!!

Fall Tilda

Fall is definitely in the air today and obviously influencing my card choices and colors. Tilda is dressed out in fall colors on this card.

Another Fall Card

And here's another fall card... this little girl scarecrow is the girlfriend to the one in the previous post. I fell in love with both of them!!

Fall Card

Made this cute little card this morning... colors don't show up very well on the photo, but I was pretty pleased with it.

On the Road.... with Laura

Big news in our family.... Laura is on the road with her learner's permit!! Tested last Thursday. She got behind the wheel at the DMV and has been driving up a storm ever since!!

Happy dance!!

Hmmmm..... looking just a little nervous!! If someone had taken a picture of me, sitting in the passenger seat, I wonder if I would have looked a little nervous??!!

You're doing great, kid!!

Trip to the Smokies

Haven't been crafting because we were out of town. We spent the week end in the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area, but spent most of our time over in the Smoky Mtn National Park. I wanted to share a few pictures!

It was a rainy, damp week end, but still beautiful!!

Took this one of the deer in Cade's Cove.

Shamu View

This was one of those layouts that had me pulling my hair out. Nothing would go as I planned and I kept having to make changes.... finally had so much time/ supplies tied up in it that I couldn't scrap it and start over-- so I kept trying to work it into something else. I finally figured out that I should have made it into 2 pages-- I think I would have been more satisfied, but I guess that is neither here nor there now, because here it is-- for better or worse!! LOL!!

This page is about the underwater viewing area for Shamu. It is one page with hidden journaling/ photos.

The paper came in a kit that I bought at my LSS. I didn't like the paper as it was, so I did some tweaking--- I cut one page in half and attached its bottom to the top of the other page. That way, instead of tossing both sheets, I ended up using them both and was much happier with them.

This is the hidden journaling opened.....

..... and a closer look at the journaling.

Manatees

This will be the last layout I post until I retake some pictures.... and work on the rest of the pages.

I took these at the manatee area at SeaWorld. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go into the underwater viewing area. After massive amounts of rain that week, the viewing area was flooded and temporarily closed, so we only got to visit and take pictures from the pool area.

Penguins

Now, back to the SeaWorld pictures!! LOL!! I had to do one of the penquins, since its always one of our favorite places to visit. We enjoy watching them-- not to mention the super AC we enjoy while in there with them!!

When we go into one of the parks, we always designate a meeting place "just in case". Should we accidentally become separated and cell phones fail, we always have one place that we know we can meet-- at SeaWorld, I told Laura and Kimmy that the penquin encounter would be our emergency meeting place if we became separated-- that way, while we were waiting, we would be entertained-- and cool!!

When I Travel........

I think this scrapbook page is one of my favorites... not because of the paper, colors or layout, but because it so accurately represents Laura. The pictures are her--- happy, laughing and enjoying life. In addition, the sentiment is exactly how she approaches a vacation and life-- she wants to see and do it all!! Here's a close up of the sentiment so you can see/ read it more easily. Laura actually found this at the scrapbooking store when we were in Tennessee in March. I saw it in her basket and immediately told her to go get one for me!! I knew I had to have it for a page for her!

Another beach layout

This is another beach layout.... at first, I was unsure if I was going to put this in the vacation album or in with my regular scrapbook pages, but I think it will definitely go with the vacation layouts. I love this picture of Laura.... very simple and so is the page. I cut the seashells out of another piece of dp and added them to the layout.

Flagler Beach

Some of these pages are a little out of order.... I'm still working and will post more SeaWorld pages later, but this will be one of the last pages in the vacation album. We stopped by Daytona on the way home from Orlando, and these pictures were taken at Flagler Beach. The dp was so busy, I didn't think it needed much embellishments or anything else added to it.

First Page of Vacation Album

This will actually be the first page in the album... it is a collage-- obviously-- of all our travels. This is much busier than normal for me, but I thought it would make a cute beginning to our trip.

Laura

I've apparently taken a break from posting lately. I actually didn't realize it had been so long!! Laura started back to school on August 20. We've been working to get back into a routine of school and band practice along with a couple of football games. Now, we have to add Contest Play into the mix. She auditioned and got a part in the school contest play. They will perform it for local schools and then also go to several regional/ state competitions with it. I think it will be a good experience for her and I know she will love every minute of it.

This layout is a brief break from the vacation album. Laura actually took this picture in our backyard, and I think its one of the best pics I have of her!! I just love it! I kept the layout very simple so that the picture would be the focal point.
